The Burping Dog

Bio"wherefore art thou burping dog?"
Peer into the display shelves of most cafes and bakeries and you'll find the same old tired desserts: run-of-the-mill cheesecakes, chocolate cakes, mousse cakes, tiramisu and maybe creme brulee. What's worse, the taste and quality often range from Very Average to Downright Awful.
What's that got to do with "burping dog"? Well, we're two guys who love our food, particularly desserts. Since we got pretty bored with what's available out there, we decided to explore and experiment with making our own.
But it just isn't possible for 2 persons eat an enormous cake, pie or pudding all by themselves. (without ending up looking like Montserrat Caballe anyway.) That's why we hatched the evil plan of whipping up various concoctions in the kitchen, and then feeding them to our guileless guinea pigs...err...i mean our good friends!
Well, apparently they think our desserts taste pretty decent, since they recently encouraged us to do a little weekend experiment whereby we would take a few small orders from people with a sweet tooth and provide doorstep delivery.
So here we are, and this is what we'll try to do: Every week on this site, we'll announce what dessert we plan to whip up during the upcoming Saturday. Let us know if you'd like to order some, and we'll arrange a delivery time and date.
We welcome feedback about the stuff we make, be it bouquets or brickbats, because we're are ourselves pretty relentless critics of our own food and we're always trying to improve recipes.
We might also post other culinary and gastronomy-related stuff every now and then, like food experiences or discoveries.
As you can gather, "burping dog" is a work-in-progress, so bear with us and we'll try our darnedest to tickle your palate in return!
